New 4-H Livestock Sale Possibilities

The 4-H Livestock Committee is considering including
4-H Market Goats and 4-H Market Dairy Beef
to the 4-H Livestock Auction, and we are looking for your input!!!

The 4-H Livestock Committee discussed the possibility of these additions, but have not made any definite plans, as they want your input. There may be a possibility that dairy beef would not be sold through the auction, but that the 4-H Livestock Committee would help arrange for a buyer to purchase all 4-H dairy beef projects.

Please make comments as your input and suggestions are very important!!!

I think that it would be great to have a way to sell these animals at the fair. However, I am concerned about adding animals to the sale due to the state of the economy and the difficulty that members have finding buyers who will come to the sale and support them by paying decent prices. If these animals could be sold as a "whole lot" to a previously determined buyer it may be better. Also, will this change the number of animals that members are allowed to take? Will members who already take multiple beef, sheep and swine projects be able to add these projects without dropping one of their other projects? Or if they are sold as a lot at a pre-determined price, will the members still be able to sell two other animals at the auction? Lots to think about...
